White spot syndrome
2.5. Some common diseases and their treatments
2.5.9. White spot syndrome (White spot Baculovirus – WSBV)
– Shrimp color can be switched to pink. Its capability of consuming feed reduces clearly.
– In shrimp body, round white spots appear under the shell and focus primarily on its carapace and the last abdominal segment.
– Shrimp swims lethargically near water surface and gathers around pond edges. Mortality occurs immediately after those signs. The mortality rate is very high, from 90-100% within 3-7 days.
